Genesis 1:5-13
New American Standard Bible
5 (A)God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And (B)there was evening and there was morning, one day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be [a]an (C)expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 God made the [b]expanse, and separated (D)the waters that were below the [c]expanse from the waters (E)that were above the [d]expanse; and it was so. 8 God called the [e]expanse “heaven.” And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
9 Then God said, “(F)Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let (G)the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land “earth,” and the (H)gathering of the waters He called “seas”; and God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the earth sprout [f](I)vegetation, [g]plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit according to [h]their kind [i]with seed in them”; and it was so. 12 The earth produced [j]vegetation, [k]plants yielding seed according to [l]their kind, and trees bearing fruit [m]with seed in them, according to [n]their kind; and God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
